Ennismore Flat Renovation | London, UK

The flat is located in the historic district just south of Hyde Park, looking on to Ennismore Garden. The objective was to open up as much as possible to give views on to the garden while restoring the flat’s original classic detailing.

Light, bright, and timeless

The previous owners had overlooked much of the original woodwork and hardware details of the original era, opting for practical nobs and floral wallpaper. Much of our work during the renovation was focused on researching restoration processes to bring back as much of the original moldings as possible while retrofitting the windows to allow for continuous light and thermal insulation.

Opening up

Due to historic code restraints, we arranged the programatic replanning of the apartment so as to give the illusion of an open plan floor plan while limiting the alterations to introducing two strategically placed door openings.
